Finding Yellow actually began as a completely different story called Imperfectly Wonderful, about a mute girl trying to express herself through different mediums. But something about it felt hollow—it read like a narrative, not an experience. So I set it aside, waiting for the right feeling to come.

One day, while going through a lot, I started narrating my day, pouring out every emotion I felt. That’s when the idea hit—what if I merged the two? Instead of a girl simply expressing herself, she would be on a journey to find herself again.

I began pulling pieces from my journals, weaving in real moments from my life that shaped my own becoming. That’s when Unraveled was born, the seed of Finding Yellow. It took about a year to gather and arrange all the events I wanted to include.

Writing this book became its own experience—a fictional life stitched together with pieces of my own. Some days, it was overwhelming, forcing me to pause and recalibrate. But other days felt light and freeing, as if I was finally letting go of something I hadn’t even realized I was carrying.
